Daft Punk Reveal Secrets of New Album – Exclusive

The band also rolled out a teaser clip this morning that showed the duo unboxing the vinyl edition of their new album to the tune of their new track “Give Life Back to Music.”

Daft Punk have been working on Random Access Memories since 2008, and the album will be out on May 21st. “We were drawing a parallel between the brain and the hard drive – the random way that memories are stored,” Thomas Bangalter told Rolling Stone last month about the new album. “Electronic music right now is in its comfort zone and it’s not moving one inch.”

DJ/producer Atropolis shows how to build an advanced instrument rack in Live using Sampler, a Drum Rack, and Live’s Arpeggiator.

A Live Instrument Rack is a powerful tool for creating custom devices such as big synths, pads, leads, and drum kits. The first part of this tutorial demonstrates how to create a complex Instrument Rack that will allow you to make sounds found in trap music like varied hi-hat patterns, rolling tuned snares and big sub kick sounds. Push is a new controller from Ableton that features a high-performance 64-button grid, backlit LED screen, and a plethora of function buttons dedicated for total control over Ableton. Although at quick glance Push might look a bit like a Novation Launchpad on steroids, it’s actually much more.
